• Profile information (age, gender, postcode, profile photo, preferred teaching areas, and a default pickup location), used to help match you with suitable Instructors and to coordinate lesson logistics
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store full card details)
• Messages, reviews, complaints, and support requests

Information collected automatically:

• Device and browser information
• Usage data (pages visited, features used)
• Approximate location (suburb or postcode level) you enter when searching for an Instructor. This is collected only when you use the search feature and is not stored beyond your session unless you save it as your pickup location or postcode in your profile.

From third parties:

• Your name, email address, profile photo, and other information you authorise Google to share when you sign in using Google.
• Payment status from Stripe

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Match you with, and facilitate bookings between you and, Instructors
• Process payments
• Send booking confirmations and reminders
• Provide customer support and investigate complaints
• Improve our platform
• Detect and prevent fraud
• Send service-related communications and, where permitted by law, promotional communications

If you do not provide certain personal information, we may be unable to create your account, process bookings, facilitate lessons, or provide certain services.

4. Information Sharing

We share your information with:

• Instructors: Your name and booking details (including pickup location, where provided) are shared with your Instructor to facilitate lessons
• Stripe: For secure payment processing under PCI-DSS standards
• Analytics providers: We may share usage information and account identifiers (such as name and email address) with analytics providers to help us understand how the platform is used, improve our services, and provide customer support
• Email delivery providers: To send booking confirmations and notifications on our behalf
• Cloud infrastructure providers: To host, deliver, and secure the platform
• Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

We may engage other service providers performing similar functions to those listed above; this policy will be updated to reflect material changes. We do not sell your personal information.

Business transfers: If DrivingPro is sold, merged, restructured, or acquires other businesses, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy laws.

5. Overseas Disclosure

Some of your personal information may be disclosed to, or processed by, entities located outside Australia, including in the United States. This includes our payment processor (Stripe), cloud infrastructure, analytics, and email delivery providers, as well as Google if you use Google sign-in.

By using DrivingPro, you acknowledge and consent to your personal information being disclosed to overseas recipients as described in this policy, as permitted by applicable law. Where practicable, we ensure these providers maintain reasonable data protection standards.

6. Data Security & Retention

We protect your information using encryption (HTTPS), secure password storage, and access controls. Payment data is handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS standards.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law. Financial records, transaction records, and certain booking records may be retained for up to 7 years where required by taxation, accounting, legal, or regulatory obligations.

In the event of an eligible data breach under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Part IIIC, Privacy Act 1988), we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by law.
